Elizabeth Wiley is honored to serve as national president of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA). Liz is a recent graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. A native of Nashville, she received a B.A. in philosophy and women’s studies from Smith College.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Liz spent two years teaching middle school in Detroit as a Teach for America corps member. She then earned both a J.D. and M.P.H. in health policy from the University of Michigan.
Prior to beginning medical school, Liz spent a year in Norway conducting health policy research with the generous support of a Fulbright grant. She has previously served on the the National Resident Matching Program’s Board of Directors and currently serves on AMSA’s Board of Trustees and the AMSA Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Committed to primary care, Liz aspires to a career as a physician advocate and hopes to practice medicine in one of our nation's community health centers.
