Welcome to AMSA's Culture of Medicine committee. This committee consists of the following areas surrounding the issues of Culture of Medicine:
AMSA PharmFree Campaign Help remove the influences of pharmaceutical advertising from the practice of medicine
Patient Safety Survey The IOM estimates that 98,000 people die every year due to preventable medical error and that medical errors cost the U.S. $37.6 billion dollars a year. What are medical schools teaching about patient safety? Did you know there are no national statistics about this? We need your help to change this! AMSA's Committee on the Culture of Medicine and Education Team are asking all medical students at all U.S. accredited medical schools in the United States and Canada to participate in a brief quiz (~10-15 minutes) on patient safety issues. This survey will inform medical educators and administrators about your knowledge of patient safety. By completing the survey you will have the opportunity to take part in a raffle in which five respondents will win a $50 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble.
